Come high breeze or low water, nothing will stop the Second Annual Poker Run! The sun was shining, and the wind was blowing like it had somewhere to be! It was a gusty day for the 2nd Annual STABYC Poker Run. After battling wind and water, we had 13 participants on the water and three hands purchased on land. 22 total hands were played. After several riveting hours of poker, Amber Barbee took home first place, and Richard second. Barbee won a bottle of Dom champagne and four first-place hats, and Richard won a bottle of Veuve and two STABYC silicone cups. The Poker Run raised a total of $ 2,000 and after expenses, will donate the proceeds to Love the Club, which will benefits the clubhouse rebuild project. A check presentation of $2,000 is to follow. The STABYC Youth Sailing team raised $300 in 50/50 ticket sales. A special thank you to Amber Barbee for all her hard work co-chairing the event, and her donation of the Dom and for handling the accounting. Thank you Jacob Barbee for being our fantastic judge. Thank you to the Walford’s, Reiss, and Brents for allowing us to use their docks. Thank you to everyone who participated in the event. We’re looking forward to next year!!
