Capdevielle Sailing Team (GYA)
Capdevielle Regattas are held within the GYA, at specific Yacht clubs along the Gulf Coast. Competing Clubs are represented by a team made up of multiple skippers and crew, sailing in Viper 640s.
The Regatta we host for this series is called the Candler Regatta, after Asa Candler Jr, the eccentric son of the founder of the Coca Cola company. Candler Jr. had a summer house here in the Cove in the ‘30s. and donated the Tiffany trophy, with stipulation that the regatta be held in front of his house on Bunkers Cove Road. The Candler regatta is held at the beginning of June each year and has been going for at least 70 years.
Anyone who knows how to sail is welcome to join the team.
